The Labour Department has registered cases against 85 shops, eateries, commercialized establishments, and transport companies for not declaring a vacation for employees connected October 2 (Thursday), Gandhi Jayanthi and for not paying them treble wages.
In a release, K. Jeyalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement), said officials inspected 106 establishments successful Erode, Bhavani, Perundurai, Gobichettipalayam, and Sathyamangalam connected Thursday. Of these, 85 neither declared a vacation for employees nor paid treble wages to those who worked.
The merchandise further stated that anterior support had besides not been obtained to supply an alternate vacation wrong 3 days for employees who worked connected Gandhi Jayanthi. Hence, cases were registered against the establishments, it added.
