Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and East Godavari District Collector Ch. Keerthi connected Friday (November 21) released 50 lakh food seedlings of assorted taxon and 5 lakh shrimp seedlings into the Godavari stream astatine Dowleswaram, marking Fisheries Day.

Addressing a gathering of fisherfolk connected the banks of the river, Ms. Keerthi said the merchandise of food seedlings would warrant livelihood for astir 4,000 families dependant connected sportfishing successful the river. Most of them are residents of the stream island. Fisherfolk families holding licence are allowed to spell for sportfishing successful the river. 

Ms. Keerthi appealed to those yet to get the sportfishing licence to registry themselves with the government. The licensed fisherfolk person security sum that protects their kin successful the lawsuit of their accidental decease during sportfishing successful the river. The extremity of November is the deadline to registry the sportfishing boats and get the sportfishing licence. Fisheries Joint Director N. Nirmala Kumari and different officials were present.
