A full of 47 bull tamers were injured successful the jallikattu held astatine Koolamedu successful Attur Taluk connected Sunday.
The lawsuit was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha subordinate S.R. Sivalingam and Kallakurichi MP, D. Malaiyarasan, and it was presided implicit by the District Revenue Officer (DRO) R. Ravikumar. Before the commencement of the event, wellness checks were conducted for the bulls and the tamers. The pledge work retired by the DRO was repeated by the tamers. The lawsuit was afloat videographed. A full of 550 bulls from antithetic parts of the State participated in the event.
Similarly, 400 tamers participated successful the lawsuit and they were divided into 8 batches of 50 members each and allowed into the arena to tame the bulls.
A full of 47 tamers sustained injuries during the event. Of the 47, 7 were admitted to Attur Government Hospital aft first-aid astatine the venue. Those with insignificant injuries were discharged aft first-aid.
Prizes and rewards were fixed to the tamers. A full of 300 constabulary unit headed by Salem District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gautam Goyal were deployed for security.
