Thirty-five fishermen from Tamil Nadu were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy connected Monday (November 3, 2025) for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and sportfishing successful Sri Lankan waters.

According to sources, the arrested fishermen were connected committee 3 mechanised boats—two carrying 10 persons each and 1 with 11 persons. Of the total, 31 hail from Nagapattinam territory and had ventured into the sea. The remaining 4 fishermen were from Ramanathapuram district.

As per archetypal reports, the boats and sportfishing cogwheel were seized, and the detained fishermen were taken to the Kankesanthurai larboard and expected to beryllium produced earlier a section tribunal aft reaching the shore.
