The State authorities has disbursed a compensation of ₹34.10 lakh for 42 cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) registered nether the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act successful Dakshina Kannada betwixt January 1 and September 15.

This was stated during the gathering of the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee and of the Alemari and Ale Alemari Development Corporation’s territory committee, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner H.V. Darshan, connected Monday.

Deputy Director of Social Welfare B.S. Hemalatha said chargesheet has been filed successful 22 cases nether the SC/ST Act.
