Madurai City Police connected Wednesday seized 331.500 kg of banned baccy products that were being smuggled successful an Andhra Pradesh registered car successful Villapuram.
The Avaniyapuram constabulary person arrested the driver, Bharath Vaishnav, 35, of Bengaluru.
The constabulary said that during a conveyance cheque connected Aruppukottai Main Road successful Villapuram, a constabulary squad had intercepted the car. The constabulary recovered that 26 bags of 2 antithetic banned baccy products were being steathily brought successful to Madurai.
The operator had told constabulary that his elder brother, Kishan Vaishnav had instructed him to present the contraband to 1 Mahaveer Jain.
The car was besides seized and the accused was sent to judicial custody.
