Two militants were arrested successful Manipur's Imphal East district, constabulary said connected Wednesday (February 18, 2026).
A self-styled lieutenant of the proscribed Peoples' Liberation Army was apprehended from Yaingangpokpi Bazar connected Tuesday (February 17, 2026), they said.
He was identified arsenic Ningthoujam Ibungocha alias Sathouba Meitei (38), they added.
Another subordinate of the outfit, identified arsenic Athokpam Manaoton Meitei (42), was arrested successful Sawombung.
In different operation, information forces recovered arms and ammunition on Ngairangbam Tanoukhul Road successful Imphal West district, officials said.
Among them were a double-barrel gun, a country-made pistol on with a magazine, 181 bullets of antithetic calibres, 3 magazines, 2 hand-grenades and a detonator, they said.
