Two self-styled commanders of the CPI (Maoist) person been arrested successful Jharkhand’s Latehar district, constabulary said connected Saturday (March 14, 2026).
Arms and ammunition, including an AK-47, were besides recovered from their possession, they said.
The arrests were made pursuing a tip-off that a CPI (Maoist) 'zonal commander' was moving with his squad successful Netarhat, Mahuadanr, Baresand, Garu and Chhipadohar areas, Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav said.
“Based connected the information, a constabulary squad was acceptable up and a hunt cognition conducted wrong Chhipadohar constabulary presumption limits. During the operation, the duo was arrested, portion 3 others managed to escape,” Mr. Gaurav told reporters successful Latehar.
The two, jointly carrying a bounty of ₹12 lakh, were wanted successful transportation with respective cases registered astatine constabulary stations successful districts and states, including Chhattisgarh, helium added.
