₹2,133 crore grant of 15th Finance Commission on hold for State not holding polls to local bodies, says SDPI

Urging the State authorities to clasp elections to the section bodies, State president of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Abdul Majeed said present connected Tuesday that not conducting polls has resulted successful the Union authorities withholding ₹2,133 crore assistance of the 15th Finance Commission to Karnataka.

Addressing presspersons, helium said that the assistance withheld is for 2025-26. He said elections to the section bodies, including zilla and taluk panchayats, are owed since 2021.
