The Government Railway Police seized 18 kg of ganja from Guruvayoor Express Train connected Wednesday night.
Following accusation that ganja was being smuggled successful the Chennai – Guruvayoor Express Train, the constabulary conducted a astonishment cheque successful the bid erstwhile it reached Tirunelveli Railway Junction connected Wednesday night. As the constabulary squad entered the unreserved coach, they recovered 3 persons travelling with bags containing 18 kg of ganja.
After picking them up for interrogation, the constabulary seized the narcotic substance. During investigation, the trio was identified arsenic R. Mithun Mandal, M. Pradeep Mandal and Ritu Mandal, each from Jharkhand. They told the constabulary that they were taking the ganja.
Further investigations are connected to place the trio’s lawsuit successful Thiruvananthapuram.
