A full of 149 candidates filed their nominations successful Salem and Namakkal districts connected Saturday (April 4, 2026).
The filing of nominations for the Assembly elections, which is to beryllium held connected April 23, 2026, began connected March 30. On the 3rd day, connected Saturday, successful Salem district, 99 candidates filed their nominations, including 19 successful Salem West, 14 successful Salem North, 13 successful Salem South, 11 successful Omalur, 8 successful Edappadi, 7 each successful Attur (SC), Yercaud (ST), and Veerapandi, 5 each successful Gangavalli (SC) and Sankari and 3 candidates successful Mettur.
On Saturday, candidates belonging to the AIADMK, DMK, TVK, PMK, and PMK (Dr. Ramadoss's faction) filed their nominations.
Similarly, In Namakkal district, 50 candidates filed their nominations connected Saturday, including 18 candidates successful Tiruchengode, 9 candidates successful Paramathi Velur, 7 candidates successful Kumarapalayam, six candidates successful Namakkal and 5 candidates each successful Rasipuram (SC) and Sendamangalam (ST), respectively.
