In all, 136 tribal persons were screened astatine a escaped wellness checkup and attraction campy organised for them by Anti-Naxal Force (ANF), Karkala, astatine Kukkundur successful Karlaka taluk connected Sunday, February 22.

Those screened were from Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts, peculiarly from areas which were erstwhile deed by Maoist activities.

Of 105 persons screened for eye-related problems, doctors recommended spectacles for 60 persons and oculus surgeries for 15 persons. In all, 105 women were screened for bosom and cervical cancer, retired of which 1 pistillate was suspected to person bosom cancer. In addition, 28 women were suspected to person cervical cancer. The samples were collected for verification tests, and the women were referred to A.J. Cancer Institute.

Hariram Shankar, Superintendent of Police and besides Superintendent of Police, ANF, said the aesculapian institutions that the screened persons were referred to volition carnivore the patients’ attraction costs.

Mr. Shankar said that the campy was organised to make wellness consciousness among tribal persons and bring wellness services to their doorstep.
