The State authorities has created 12 caller colony panchayats successful the elevation areas of Bargur, Thalavadi and Kadambur successful the district.
Government Order (G.O.) No. 343, dated December 5, 2025, issued by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, stated that nether the restructuring plan, a high-level committee was constituted to analyse the enactment of caller colony panchayats. Discussions were besides held with the respective District Collectors done video conferencing, and recommendations were obtained. In the Kadambur hills nether the Sathyamangalam Panchayat Union, Guthiyalathur colony panchayat was reorganised into 5 caller colony panchayats: Kadambur (12 villages), Pavalakuttai (9), Iruttipalayam (12), Karalayam (11) and Arigiyam (4 villages).
Officials said the instauration of caller colony panchayats, agelong demanded by the section residents, would assistance guarantee the wide improvement of the elevation areas.
