A full of 12 fishermen, including 5 from Tamil Nadu, were apprehended by the Sri Lankan Navy connected Saturday nighttime for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), sources said.

The fishermen had ventured into the oversea successful a mechanised boat, owned by Veeravel of Tsunami Nagar astatine Kilinjalmedu successful Karaikal district, from the Karaikal sportfishing harbour astir 10 a.m. connected April 10. While they were sportfishing astir 60 nautical miles disconnected Karaikal, the vessel was intercepted by the Sri Lankan Navy astir 9 p.m. connected April 11, and each 12 fishermen connected committee were taken into custody.
