As galore as 100 devotees began their four-day spiritual pilgrimage to the six abodes of Lord Murugan across the State present connected Monday (October 13, 2025).
Organised jointly by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department and the Tourism Department, Collector S. Kandasamy, flagged disconnected the pilgrimage from the premises of Arulmigu Velayuthaswamy Temple at Thindal.
The pilgrimage, scheduled from October 13 to 16, volition screen the six abodes of Lord Murugan (Arupadai Veedu) by visiting temples at Palani, Tiruchendur, Thirupparankundram, Pazhamudircholai, Swamimalai, and Thiruthani. The devotees, aged between 60 and 70 and with an yearly income below ₹2 lakh, volition question in three buses, with each indispensable amenities arranged for their comfort.
Mr. Kandasamy said that some departments were jointly facilitating spiritual tours for the poor, underprivileged, and aged citizens to assorted pilgrimage centres. As portion of this initiative, devotees were earlier taken to Amman temples during Aadi Fridays, and subsidies are being provided to those undertaking the Manasarovar pilgrimage.
